I have had my J&S for three years now and still love it. I just do not see the sense in trying to save a couple of hundred dollars on something I am using to lift a $20,000+ motorcycle in the air.

Well this topic has been beaten to death before, kind of like fingerless gloves, whether to eave or not and which oil to use. I'd recommend using the search function if you'd like more input on this. I remember even seeing videos posted by some of the members of their jacks. Having said that, J&S and Pitt Bull seem to be the two best and preferred jacks. After researching all of the options, I bought a Sears red jack and it works just great for me.

As with most choices in life, there is the cheap one and the right one. I after weighing the evidence, opinions, and actually taking a trip to sears and harbor freight decided I wasn't going to cheap out and risk my bike on a pos jack to save a couple of bucks.

My J&S got here last week, best $450 dollars spent on a tool (got the optional drain pan and handle as accessories)

I just bought a J&S used with the optional oil pan set up. I have been using a older bike jack that wasn't as wide but "just fit" under the frame and what a difference with the J&S. This is one sweet jack.

I was thinkin' bout' poppin' for a PB when they come to my area around Sturgis in a couple of months. They said around $400 smackers..w/out the turntable option. Anybody think that is a $179 option or have one and if so, what's your opinion of it?
Looks very functional but you still have to get out of the way at least 6 feet, probably more like 8 to spin it to yourself, that is unless you are laying underneath it?

I went with the J&S. Too me, it was the right choice.
