To Plug or Not To Plug???
#21
I have and will plug a tire and not give it a second thought but....does your RK have wire wheels? If so you have a tube, so just like any tire, patch or replace the tube and unless the hole in the tire is huge forget about it. Some people replace the tube and patch the tire from the inside.
BTW - How's Mom and Pop? Sore I bet.

Plug it and not have second thought! Obviously it depends on where the hole is. If it is in the transition area from tread to sidewall, the sidewall itself, or the hole is too large to plug, a new tire is in order.
Now to all of you nay sayers out there who will not plug under any circumstances........ The next time you have a flat on a new or nearly new tire and insist on buying ANOTHER new tire I have a proposition. Offer your new or nearly new tire with a hole in it to the members of this forum who WILL plug a tire. Taker pays the costs of shipping and you don't hafta pay the disposal fee on that new or nearly new tire. You have the piece of mind of a new tire and the plugger gets a helluva deal on a perfectly good tire. Win-win situation.
