Ozoneman,
I just hung up with the promoter of the rally, he is very excited and motivated to make this rally a hit. Although this is the first rally for them it sounds like they are putting there best foot forward. Here is some vendor information: there will be leather, L.E.D. lighting, air rider, 2 pin striping vendors, sunglasses, tattoo's, food vendors- some local, he said there will be Budwieser tents set up as well. Off the top of his head 40-50 vendors, and more are inquiring. As you know of this area Ozoneman....I explained my concerns on how well the "public" here will accept this. We both were in total agreement that Corbin needs to step into the times, and if this goes well this year, some big name vendors will be here next year. The Chief of Police here stated they are not going to harass anyone, of course they will do the job if it warrants it but they want everyone to have a good time. As for the group rides, people from Maryland and Florida and other areas have already signed up. 2nd Birgade MC (?) will be escorting the the arrival of the Wall Memorial, there will be emphasis on the Military Appreciation Day. He was very excited and confident regarding the bands, and the Corbin fireworks will be set off prior the the band playing Saturday Night. All shows inside the Arena will be $15 regardless of the seat, there is no bad seating inside and I guess the fights will be championship fights.
I have nothing to gain from this, but whoever may read this I would like to see this do well. This southeastern area of KY could really use a boost in catching up with the times, it is a central location right off of I-75, with an abundance to do. With the Honda Hoot cancelled...maybe it could even attract some other bikers and everyone have a great time.

Looks like the wife and I will plan to make it. We put in for time off so we can get there Wednesday night. I was going to plan a ride down that way anyway, so this will be it. Last year we stayed in Somerset for a few days and did several roads down that way. Had a great time!

I'm thinking about signing up for the Harlan County Ride (July 1), and the McCreary County Ride (July 2) at the rally.

Lambo, would those be the better rides?

If anyone else is planning to go, let's here from you. If enough will be there, maybe we could have a HD Forum night somewhere in Corbin.

I think all the rides will be great, I have ridden through Harlan or to it. straightish all the way in, keep in mind real coal country. McCreary is Mountiness, 92 is all new now, plus they have the Sterns Depot. I would do the one that goes to Middlesboro and the Cumberland Gap, I just love that area and going up to the pinnicale, nice look out.

I went through the Gap last year on the way back from the Smokys. We even took a side road through Pine Mountain State Park. I was hoping to see some different parts of Kentucky on this trip.

Looking forward to it and hope the rally has good weather and a great turnout.
