Myrtle beach bike week 2010

Maybe things'll never change in Sturgis, but they are changing everywhere else. Don't fight it, don't show support to those that deserve it. Pretty soon we'll all be shoved into one little corner and that'll be the only place you can ride a motorcycle.
I've been going to the Spring and Fall rallys at the beach for years and spent very little time in MB proper. Too many RUBs and posers. I always had the best time around Surfside and Murrell's Inlet.

Got back yesterday and had a great time. Not as busy as usual but still pretty crowded. The vendors were less than in past years. I spent my time in the south or north but none in the city. Like someone else said - lots of cops but didn't seem to bother you unless you were being an idiot and needed to be bothered. Saw more cars than bike pulled over. All in all a good time!

Ok, Butthead. Keep your head in the sand. I got this from an MB LEO that is a long time friend of mine.
Oh yeah!!! I remember hearing this all the time when rumors were going around about the changes coming to MB.

Look Pal,
I got limited vacation, limited funds,
I choose to spend $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and time where I know I will enjoy myself,
As long as there are plenty of options,
Sturgis, Daytona, Laconia,
I do not need the BS brought on by a bunch of retired old farts that voted in that Mayor in MB,
My opinion,
Now,
Put your own head in the sand,

I also just got back yesterday. I was there 7 days and don't remember seeing a bike pulled over in the city of MB....matter of fact, I don't remember seeing a bike pulled over anywhere. I played by their rules and wore my helmet and keep a easy hand on the throttle and never got a second look. I had a good time. I hope the crowds boycott again next years. I didn't miss the traffic and noise. Also getting a great deal on a nice condo in a highrise was an added benefit.

We just got back yesterday as well. I gotta say, i was bummed. It was our first time to MB. We stayed in surfside - i think thats what it was called. Rode through MB to wherever we were going, but didnt once stop in city limits. SBB was an awesome freakin time. Finally was able to see some sweet burnouts. If i had never gone to other rallies i may think that was great. Unfortunately, im a born and raised Daytona Beach boy. MB is no DB. The main thing I noticed, was there was barely anything to do, everything was all spread out, and nothing of too substantial at one stop. So basically you would park the bike, see everything in 10 minutes and get back on the bike to go fight in traffic to the next spot. Im just use to DB where you park at the Speedway and it takes you a few hours to see things. Jump on, go to the Iron Horse or Main Street or Rossmeyer's and its the same thing. It takes hours, and there is PLENTY to do. Out of a 10 i would rate MB a 2. Im not sure if we will ever go back there for another rally.

The evel one
Just back to the crib myself. I had a wonderful time as always..Never crossed the MB City Limits. Hung out from Calabash to Surfside and wasn't bothered by the po po. Actually had a good time talking chit with a couple of leos down at the Beaver..It is what it is...If you don't want to go then stay the Hell at home..Hopefully the Spring Rally will rise from the ashes..Hopefully...Still had a blast and will continue to do so.........

I was their and saw no shortages of bikes at Beaver Bar or Suck Bang Blow in Murrills inlet. In the North end where we are, Poo's and Swing Bridge were kickin also. HB Spokes was kind of SO SO. I must admit that there are fewer bikes however that makes it now where as you can get around a little easier.

Bingo!!
One of the highlights of the "OLD" Myrtle Rally was riding up and down Ocean Blvd past all the packed hotels and bars, with everyone having a good time riding and watching the show. Tit's and bikes,
Theat area is now a No Man's Land of Helmet and Muffler Police with their cones and One Way traffic patterns.
To bad some posters here do not see the demise of once great event,
To close proximity to see the reality of the present,
Wear your helmet, be quiet with your mufflers, ride either north or south of Myrtle Proper and you will be a good boy and not get ticketed,
YEE HAH!!!!
