Laying a Bike Down
#41
You may still crash, but proper emergency braking might mean the difference between hitting that car at 10 mph instead of 50 mph.

Riding down the road one of my friends in a wheelie, a car stomped on it's brakes on purpose to a stop, he put the bike down, both tires locked up, he laid the bike down and rolled out of the way on purpose to not slam face first into the back of this SUV.
Was a smart thing to do in a stupid situation I think. Can't really think of another situation where I would do that.

Just a quick thought...concentrate on the fact that no one knows you are there (or cares), drive defensively, distance equals time, speed reduces that number dramatically (yours as well as the the opposing object), remember you NEVER have the right of way (although the law may IMPLY you are in the right), ALWAYS LOOK FOR A WAY OUT, always remember the meaning of assume (a$$ of U n me).
