Default Changing bulbs on guages - 94 FLHTC

Many bulbs burn't out. Can anyone advise how to remove the batwing fairing on a 94 to change them. Not overly inclined mechanically. Thanks in advance.

Remove Headlight and Windshield. Remove bolts that hold spot light bracket. Put a towel on front fender and let spot lights rest on that. Inside Headlight hole on each side are two acorn nuts. Remove them and the fairing should come off.

You might be able to get to them with just headlite out.

BArt, when you get ready to put it back on, find the person with the smallest hands you can find. There are 2 washers and a nut on each stud. The washers should be on either side of the fairing mounting bracket At least this was how mine was. I kept having a problem keeping the washers separated. Finally, removed the nut and one washer. Took masking tape and punched a hole in a small piece and slid it over the fairing stud , securing one washer to the batwing. put the other washer and nut back on and then tightened it up. A ratchet wrench (gear wrench) works well. I've got giant sized hands, so it's difficult for me to get mine into the batwing far enough to reach the nuts.

Good luck to you. It's not really that hard to do, just time consuming and the aggravation factor is kind of high.

Thanks guys, wasn't a lot of fun but got the fairing off and replaced the bulbs. Couldn't get at the bulbs through the headlight hole.
