I have a quick detatch which is only handy when I wash it. Once you get used to a windshield you are screwed.

A muffler falling off a riding buddies older bike down the highway twenty feet in front of me,and bouncing up slamming into the front of my bike, changed my mind REAL quick! Got off VERY LUCKY, and decided a windshield's dork look factor wayyyyyy outweighed getting with stuff that potentially could kill me going down the highway....I got a wife and kids I want to spend some more time with (not saying a windshield saves lives, but that day either 10KM faster, or the muffler bouncing off the highway only three or four more inches higher, the windshield would have made all the difference in the world!)

Last six bikes I've had a shield on them,, so it looks normal on mine.
Some bikes still looks better without one or at least one thats not too big..
Don't really like to ride without one and do very seldom. Just short local rides.

Been doing a lot more highway riding lately since it's gotten warmer and really thinking a lot about getting a windshield. Been lucky so far, haven't taken a direct hit from a bug (or anything else) yet but there's been some very close calls and don't like having my face sand-blasted. I also really like the way my bike looks without but that is quickly becoming low priority. If I can find one I like that works I'll be all over it.

Oh, it looks bad alright - you just got used to it. Just funnin' folks.

And I'm a Dork, too - I don't need anything else to make me look like a bigger dork. [Insert Smilie here]

In all honesty, I don't need or want a windshield at this point in my riding career. I've been on long trips and not having one hasn't been much of a hindrance. I suppose the next time I ride through a swarm of locusts might be when I change my mind, though...

For all you windshielders, more power to you! And DILLIGAF!

After growing up on bikes of different makes and sizes. Having been hit by or eaten just about every bug there is and been hit or nearly hit by things that fly and even a few man made things. I think I earned the right to have a windshield. And besides, They come with an Electraglide. Oh ya, Lets not forget what Mother Nature can make fall out of the sky.
