8 years of riding until yesterday...
I got picked up by NYS State Trooper for violating the helmet law. Was wearing the non-DOT approved and so called novelty helmet. Cop was cool and says that they are cracking them down now. Time to abide the law by wearing DOT approved helmet from now on.
Stopped at a local HD store to buy myself solid black HD half helmet with built-in sun visor afterwards and sure felt funny/odd wearing one. Time will tell as getting used to it, Eh.

Buh-Bye, My favorite novelty helmet !.

I never liked the way the DOT half helmets looked on me. Sat way too high and too bulky on my head for sure. Like mentioned above, a mushroom helmet. I must have a real weird head shape or something. I went with a plain black retro 3/4 and love it. Looks a bit cleaner on me in my opinion and still puts the wind in my face.

Couple of my buddies put on DOT stickers, but to look at their buckets, you know there not DOT. One got a ticket and one got a warning, go figure. I've tried many helmets and they all look like mushrooms.

Not at the moment... every picture I have found of me with my bike is without helmet. Go figure. I'll see if I can drag one up for ya.
