I have never thought to ask a shop if they had insurance, something you just sort of expect. Total bummer that you lost your bike but maybe you can revamp your business plan to include a service shop. If the guy is a good mechanic he could be a real asset and draw more customers to your store. He's gonna need a place to get another start.

I gotta say you're holding it together better than I would....if a bike of mine was destroyed under the same circumstances, and I was deprived of a season's riding (and out cost of replacement), it wouldn't be pretty.

Thats sucks dude. For you and the indy. I hate to see this **** happen to good ole bikers.

Did he indicate at all over the phone what he intends to do? Or did he just say everybody including him is screwed?

I wouldnt think to ask about insurance either but now I have to wonder what would happen if this happened at my indy. He works out of his 2 car garage behind his house. I am fully covered but not sure if his HO policy would cover the bikes in a fire. He has at least 5 bikes in there at all times.

Wouldnt take but a very small donation from each of us to get you riding again if several chipped in . Thats a tuff way to loose your bike ,, especially one you've put so much heart into.

Keep us updated.

Sorry Guy,

You will ride again......it will happen
Bought a '65 Pan in 1970.....rode it until it was stolen in 1989....I know how you are feeling, and you will bounce back.

Well...... someday your son will be riding the bike you and he built, and it will make it all the more special....he won't forget it, EVER. It's obvious you've got your head screwed on right, and this will, one day, merely be a family story of a temporary setback. My old man has been gone 35 years, and not a day goes by that I don't remember his kindness and decency.
