Is it just me, or is the cadence of the Topper at idle in the video sound a lot like our TC96 motor's just "lighter?"

 

I always thought the art-deco Salsbury scooter was pretty cool

 

Those Salusbury's are cool ant even harder than a Topper to find parts for. That idle in the video is set too high in my opinion. I've set mine a bit lower. The carb is a Tillotson M119B and even harder to find parts for. Thanks for the museum picture!! My scooter appears in the Encyclopedia of Harley-Davidson but didn't come from a museum. I've changed it somewhat from that pic using period accessories. I was told by the previous owner, the book picture was taken at the Sturgis Cycle Sales Corral. The parts documentation for Toppers really stopped in 1962 although they reprinted the parts books up to '65 without further revision. By using Harley's accessory catalogs for those years I've had some success figuring out what what was "correct" for '62-'65 and what wasn't. In Topper discussion, there's still plenty of unsolved mysteries not covered by documentation. I wonder why that front corner of the museum Topper is crushed down like that?
