Yes they can change there name and stay open if they can afford to but they will have to remove all the HD logo signs and dealer signs etc.
No different then Roders up in sandusky ohio man was a great group of people and they shut down and are no longer a HD dealer but they did go back to the original monroeville store and opened up Roder racing

this is America, HD can do what they want and customers can do what they want. Last I heard HD was not raking in the profits. There is no monopoly on bikes, they make a product I want and I hope they do well. Maybe they have overexpanded.

They should become Indian dealers, that will show MOCO. oops.......guess that won't work either.
I feel sorry for folk losing their job and for loyal customers but to think markets weren't saturated would be as my daughter used to say "crazy pants."
I know our company is just now coming out of a 5 yr. cycle of closing several plants. Very sad, but also very necessary. We were way over-capacity in North America and now are more profitable then we have been in 15 years. Can blame it on greed I guess but I doubt we would be around at all if it had not happened.

My family owned a retail music store for 46 years. We handled all the name brands for all those years. Each manufacture we represented had a franchise agreement that spelled out the dollar amount and conditions of the right to market the Franchise.
If you fell below the annual dollar amount after a year or two they would want you to increse sales or threaten you with losing the franchise. Sometimes it was simply better to let the franchise go than go broke trying to keep it. I also have observed that when customers refer to a good dealership, they normally refer to the dealer that gives them good service and also large discounts from list price. Like all of us if we give the profit away we can't last forever. Not intending to start an argument just saying we all have to take in more than we spend out to survive. When our expenses out weigh our income we go belly up.

Surely can't see anything happening to F&S as large as they are. They seem to be doing quite well.

F&S's inventory has been looking pretty slim latley. Was in there Thursday, and was surprised how the placed looked a bit more empty than usual.
I'd say Mid Ohio or Buckminns would prob get the axe before F&S and Gover's.
