Default Dirty air...Turbulence wiggle 87 Electra

She goes down the road just perfect but when on the interstate passing or getting near the rear of a semi it gets pretty wiggly!

I have what I think is the tallest windshield, which I plan to replace with a 3-4 inch shorter one....Will this help?

I didnt find any problem with my neck bearings when I had the front apart.

Its not a wobble, its dirty wind. My rear suspension has no bushing issues.

I plan today to experiment with the rear shock pressures.

I am running 20 wt oil on the forks.

I am considering a steering dampener.....

What do u think? The bike feels loose when you get near a truck, but normally its fine. I dont recall the 84 doing it like this when I ride that one.

I always wiggle/wobble behind semi's, always have and bike type (cruisers anyway) never mattered. I always believed it was the big wind turbulence surrounding the windshield of the bike and "shaking."

I tend to hold back as far as reasonable then move left and accelerate hard past the truck.

you hit the nail on the head! the only thing you can do to avoid the wiggles, is to stay back from the truck.

What do you expect from that big ol' fork mounted bat wing?

Just FYI - the Road Glide is more stable when encountering turbulence.

Otherwise, what he said;

It's really fun passing those trucks when it's raining cats and dogs, and the wind is blowing crossways about 40-50 mph!

I always get the "wonder if my wife is going to enjoy the life insurance $$" thought when that happens.
