Funny the stories!

I bought a pickup that way once. Shopped my **** off until I found the truck and options I wanted and the price I was willing to pay. I was on my way to buy the truck when on a whim I stopped in at a more local to me dealer. He had the truck I wanted in stock. Showed it to me. We went inside and sat at his desk. I told him the price I'd pay. He played the gotta talk to the manager game. No problem. Told him when he comes back to stretch his hand out and shake my hand. He asked why? I told him it was either you just bought a truck or good bye. No other options. Dang I bought a new truck in 20 minutes. 15 of it was just walking out and looking at it! LOL!

 

Just great, when human beings can work together.

 

One of the rules of negotiation: Time = Money. The more time you have to negotiate, the better deal you’re going to get. I discovered this by accident when I was buying a set of wheels for my truck. I went into the store and told the salesman (actually the owner, which I believe was the key in this case) that I only had $1000 to spend. He showed me the wheels that were available for that price. I was in the store for around two hours and honestly couldn’t make up my mind which ones I would take. What I really liked was a set that was marked at around $1600. Finally he said “Look, pick out ANY set of wheels on the wall and I’ll give them to you for $1000. Just PICK a set!”

 

Yea my googling eyes, and slobber didn't help my cause. I was in and out with a new bike in less than 2 hours. Saw me comin" but I am still happy.
