Default Avon Cobra Tires

I am looking at replacing my stock dunlops. I have been looking at these Avon AV71's and AV72's Cobra's. Has anyone tried these, how's the mileage been on them. Any opinions between the stock dunlops compared to the Avons. I only got about 5200 out of my rear 200mm Dunlop.

Thanks for any input

I dunno if it was the tire or neglect, but I saw one blow out of the rear on a sport bike during a local ride a few years ago, and since then I would not even put one on my wheelbarrow. And again I don't know the cause and not sure of the logo on the tire, but I do know it was an avon tire.

When my Dunlops wore out I replaced them with the Cobras on my Softail Custom. I really liked the tires. They gripped well, good mileage compaired to the Dunlops, and were great in heavy rain. When I needed a new rear tire I didn't have the money for the Cobra and bought a Shinko. I'm going back to the Cobra and will not switch brands this time. I had a lot more confidence in the Cobra than I do the Shinko.

everyone I know that has Avons really likes them. Their loyal to them like I am to my metzelers. The blowout incident stated above could easily have been due to the rider not watching his air pressure or any number of things. Never seen someone blowout their Avon tire myself.

Avon Venom on the front and a Cobra on the rear. Great tires that really grip the road.

I have cobras. Had them for about 1500 miles. Love them. I have not ridden ME880's or similar, but the grip is astronomically better than the stockers. I am of the mindset I would rather have more grip (safer) and change them more often if I have to. I will most likely buy them again, or at least the Venoms.

Just put Avon Venom on the front and the Storm on the back. So much stickier than the Dunlops I almost don't care how long they last.

I had Avon Venoms on my Wide Glide. They hugged the ground and lasted really well.

I have dunlops on this bike because that is what came on it stock. I will be converting over to Avon's when these wear out. I have had them on my bikes in the past and they are a lot better than Dunlops from my experience with them.
