Nice bike.
Rub it up, make it run nice and leave it alone.
Ride it around the neighborhood.
Its cool.

Wife had a 1974 SS250 and I noticed his first post brought to life a very old post.

Smile Brings back memories

I used to have one that was black. Wish I still had it for old times sake. I'm not sure of the year of mine but I bought it brand new. I actually traded in an Aeramacchi AMF H-D 65cc for it which was my first bike back in the early '70's.
I had a lot of fun riding both & wish I would still have them.

I think it's pretty cool. If you like it and feel it's worth putting some money into it then go for it. Everything can't be a collector's item, sometimes just doing it because you like it and it represents something to you. Good luck.

I had one in my garage in 1975, a shovelhead that I had for 6 years. Never had one bit of trouble from it. I only sold it because I started thinking about being in a wreck when I went out. I told my (then) wife, it wasn't fun anymore.

My uncle had that exact bike. They were known to be pretty under powered. My dad used to tell us how proud he was of it, then one day they went to the dunes to ride. He said my uncle started at the top of one dune and headed toward another for some air. Dad said it made a hell of a mean sound heading up the face of the next dune, but didn't quite make it to the top.

Cocky, The paint on that gas tank appears to be OEM paint from a 1975 HD, not a 1974......

Might be. Really dont remember exactally because they didnt sell and he had several years, all brand new jumbled together in the crates in the back room of his dealership. Basically got it for his cost. Brought it home still in the crate. Wife had a good time on it.
