BMW recomends using a specific metal valve stem cap that has a rubber seal in it to keep air from leaking past many valve stem seals while at hwy speed. So they recognize there is a potential for a problem. I also use a tire sealer balancer I believe it is called Ride On and will seal punctures. You should be able for find it, Rockville H-D in Gaithersburg, MD installes it in all there bikes when new.

You need to think about using UltraSeal, it will maintain your tyre pressiures as set and assist if/when you pick up a puncture. I have it in both front and back on both bikes and it works!!!!

I'm not sure it this applies, but are the wheels
tubeless cast aluminims. I had a car wheel leak
air "real slow" through the casting. The dealer
told me they never seen that happen before.

Get a mc lift and lift the bike off the ground. Then get a plastic/rubber pan big enough for the tire/wheel to fit in.Fill the pan with water and place under the tire.Lower the bike down so that the tire is sudmerged.Spin the wheel slowly and check for leaks.

mikec wonders if they are cast? I think he is wondering that because the cast wheeels do tend to lose air more so then tubed and laced

Good idea Kirt. I've got a motorcycle jack and never thought about your idea but I will try it. Thanks!

I am also guilty of not checking my tire pressure often. It is probably because every time I check it, it is correct. I have used different gauges with the same results.

I made the mistake leaving the first tire pressure gauge in the tour pack when it was really hot. The second time I wanted to use it, I discovered that the heat in the tour pack had caused the gauge to go all of the way past full pressure an ruined the gauge.
