I should have also mentioned... You may want to ask around about guys that paint custom bikes. There is a guy at the dealership that is VERY talented. He will custom paint a design on a helmet for about $100. Considering you can buy a black X-Eleven for more than a $100 less than the already designed one... That could be a way to go. That way you get a design you want and you can match the exact colors on your bike.

The only thing I do not know is how "sturdy" a painted helmet is going to be.

I like Arai helmets berter than Shoei, and find them to be quieter also, at freeway speds and such. I also think they are lighter causing less strain on the neck. I've had arai's opposed to shoeis for many years. Check out the Black white and blue Kenny roberts jr. arai. thats what I have. Name: rx_reproberts_blue.jpg

Size: 7.0 KB I found a leftover one in this color scheme from a few years ago for $299. Retail is about $700. Check out www.derbycycles.com. I dislike the colors on the other one, but thats just my taste.

She has said that she feels more buffetting around with the helmet than she felt without it but she also rides with the face shield up and it is catching wind also. Her only complaint about the helmet is that it is hot in the summer.

yeah, Bluerose, get a nice helmet and have it painted with your bike's colors and maybe a "blue rose." That would be sweet...

Here is your man

http://www.kagayama.com/

Now your gonna have to start watching world susperbike racing!!
I think the helmet looks good and he looks pretty bad *** in the bottom pic.

Keep in mind its a replica helmet so you pay more for the graphics. It's the motorcycle version of wearing your favorite sports guys jersey with his name and number on the back. It will throw some of the more hardcore ricky racer types for a loop.
"Dude check it out!! that harley chick over there has a kagayama replica helmet!!"

Bit of a juxtoposition when you think about it. The whole HD made in america thing topped off with asian made helmet in an asian riders colors!!

That's a very good article, I had read one along the same lines at another time, another magazine.
I thought it was funny when they talked about how thick a helmet would have to be to really protect you.
We'd all look like Members of the "Jack" family...Jack in the box dude that is!

I had read also about how your pretty much dead from any substantial impact, from bodily injury
regardless of the helmet, like this article stated.
Pretty much you'd be able to feel the pain if your head survived before you died anyway.

Seems pretty much the helmet just saves one in a long skid and a light to medium pop on the head.

Did you check out the "Diabolic 1" design? I am leaning towards this one as I think it better "matches" my scoot (same color as yours...)

I tried it today and was very impressed with the fit and weight.
