I've got a vinyl collapsible cooler, holds a 12-pack with ice, folds down to not much size, easy to pack.

Here's my sleeping bag, remember that I'm from Houston so very warm. very light, packs very small, can sleep in almost any southern weather.

I always pack my clothes and soft items in the bottom of the sleeping bag, then roll it up tight. A lot can go in there, and the shape it forms when rolled up is easy for strapping to the bike.

The only thing I haven't seen mentioned is a first aid kit. Its a good idea to keep a simple one when going on long trips, away from towns.

Glad you enjoyed your self. Nothing like getting away from all the rush if the modern times.

That's why I posted the MC camping list link a couple posts ago. You can easily forget small critical things like bug spray or sunblock. BTW, found a very small stick sunblock (spf 30) for a buck at the dollar store; tried it at work and it's great!

I hear that. I forgot my summer riding gloves. So I had my normal gloves and it was 90 degrees out.

I want to go again today.
Work this week is hard since I would rather be at the beach camping.

Half the fun of doing it is figuring out how to pack it all on and keep it on,and dry.Mother and I did it for years on SuperGlides.

My main advice (and don't ask how I know this ) is be careful how and where you attach your ratchet straps! Those things WILL pull pieces of your bike loose!

yeah, that 3-1/2" handle on a ratchet strap multiplies your pull by about 4 or 5:1 - so if you give it a 10 lb. tug, it pulls at almost 50 lbs! Good advice there.
