Default Leaving Stuttgart

Looks like I am off to Sigonella, Italy. Don't want to ship so, riding down there. Anyone take the trip before. It's 19-21 hour trip and was just wondering where to stay on the overnights. It won't be until late June, just getting all my duck's in a row. Anyone that has made the trip, please chime in.

PCS coming up and I just don't want to put her in the hands of another. I know there are a few here that have made the trip. Just trying to get some advice. And yes, there will be plenty of pix's. I can't wait.

I rode a train from Würzburg, Germany to Rome in 1970. I had a Sleeper Car and really enjoyed that trip. It was my last holiday in Europe before returning to the states.

You will have a wild ride if you drive through the Bavarian and Italian Alps. There are several old castles worth seeing.

Well, the last time I went from Germany to Italy we just pulled off the road at any place big enough to pitch a tent. Of course that was in 1959. The roads through the Alps are some of the most scenic in the world. Try to leave yourself a few days to make the trip. Like a previous poster said, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Take your time and enjoy it.

Lucky YOU! I hitch hiked from Vicenza to Leghorn down by Piza to pick up my POV. You'll never forget your trip. Good Excuse. I'd use it too. Don't want to turn over my baby, HA HA HA.
