I understand where you are coming from.......but if I may add.
I had no intention of riding with my buddy until he pulled into his driveway.
I've never done that, nor do any of my buddies ride with me until I'm home.
We're grown men & we discussed the situation.......at some point in every ride, you go your separate ways.
Usually a follow up phone call is placed to ensure each made it home safely.

BTW, that 80 extra miles was pretty fun and as dennyo said, yep the ride home was pretty sweet knowing I didn't lose a $400.00 phone that doesn't have insurance (Apple does not offer it with iPhones).

Yes, I picked up the "Joe's Vest", 1" collar, snaps & black lining.
$250 out the door, no tax.
$299.95 on their website...been "eyeing it" online for awhile so it worked out good.
Gotta see and feel one in person to justify the cost, they're worth it.
