Sealing Gas Tank Leaks?
#11
I never had luck with JB weld, hole was was under 1/16 of a inch. Applied it three different times taking care to prep each time, and it still leaked. I also kreemed the tank the first time I used JB weld on it. Carefully following the directions. I ended up just buying a new tank.

Use the tank sealer POR15. Do NOT use JBWeld. Then get some rubber washers and use them on both sides of each bracket hole front & back mounts. If you can't find any cut your own from some rubber strips that they use for car top carrier mounts. Those strips have adhesive and will absorb 90% of the shock & flexing that is causing the leak. Blue loctite fasteners.

Here's a up date on my leaky situation! I took freakdog1200 and/or the advice of his painter and went with Caswell's motorcycle tank sealer and so far so good! All leaks are sealed up and the wife's let me park her back in the garage! Thanks to everyone for their input!
