I bought the HD Silencer grips 55869-10 and installed recently. Apparently, someone at HD thought it'd be a good idea to glue the metal part to an inner section. Now the grip will rotate freely instead of controlling the throttle when I twist it back.

80 bucks down the drain. Anyone have a similar experience?

I just had this happen with the HD skull grips. Although my grips are 2 yrs old, the rubber actually seperated from the plastic tube causing me to lose throttle when riding. I just took them apart and applied super glue to the inside and slid it back into place. It's been working fine since.

 

Never had a problem. Sorry to hear about yours. I now have Kuryakyn ISO grips on my bike.

 

Just a throttle cable brake on the highway. Call road service to pick me up.

 

nope I got arlen ness grips! broke a few cables over the years but still working good!
