My wife is the best friend I could ever think of having. It doesn't feel natural not to have her on the back...we love two up, and every mile is great time spent together.

She is small and a good passenger. Our getaways are a lot of fun!!

I would prefer Solo. I don't want the extra responsibility of someone else. I don't know what I would do if I caused her harm.

The only bad thing is, If its too hot, she want to go by car and if its too cold, she also wants to go by car.

I always enjoy having her on the back EXCEPT when the conditions are bad enough that I fear for my own safety.....she's been on rides (on her own bike or on the back of mine) with all-day snow, ice, wind, cold pouring rain, and never complained once. She's tough, and I guess after over 40 years of marriage she thinks I know what I'm doing (sometimes more than I do). On those kinds of rides I wish she was sitting safely at home.

My wife has no desire to ride and really does not want me to. So it is solo for me pretty much all the time.

I like her back there. We don't ride together that often. That's probably why I don't mind. I took her across the Mackinac bridge, between the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of Michigan, on a very windy day and she didn't like that much! I didn't either.

I noticed some posters talk about drawbacks to having a passenger or being forced to change their riding style. Maybe I can enjoy 2-up so much because neither applies with my wife. She doesn't weigh enough to be noticed much back there. There are no limits if I decided I want to ride aggressively, very fast, engage in a little horseplay or race someone out of a light. As a matter of fact, she *loves* that kind of stuff - even encourages it on occasion. She doesn't complain if it gets cold or rains or, whatever. She just loves riding.

I have ridden with guys whose wife is slapping them in the head if they exceed the speed limit by more than 3 mph. ... I can totally see not enjoying bringing someone like that along.

I never have liked riding 2up. I'm always a solo rider.
