Oh, one other thing you can check. I'm not totally sure if the new bikes have it, but my 95 has a little vent hose ontop of the transmission. If the transmission is overfilled it will puke oil out of it and run down between the trans and primary.

That's a good thought, may not even be coming from the primary, worth looking in to.

If Ur not sure on when it was serviced I'd just change filter and all three holes any way,
then start from there.....

Interesting. I recently had my tranny cover off and some fluid came out and ran all along the bottom of my bike. I just took it to the dealer because of an idle problem and they called me up and said that I had a primary leak. Sort of makes me wonder now because I've never had anything drip - not even parked in the same spot in my garage over winter!

Use the turkey baster to remove enough oil to get it below the fill line. Then ride the bike until it is warm and check the oil again. Continue removing oil until it is just below the fill line warm. Then clean the excess oil from under your bike and see if you have any leaks. It could be something as simple as your oil pan gasket, which I had to replace on my GF's Dyna for the same reason you explained.

Do the simple things first!!

If the oil is still clean, drain it all out and put it right back in, minus a little of course. Ride and check, ride and check, til you get it figured out.
