rain gear question
With the way things have been here lately it looks like I'm gonna have to get some rain gear if I want to ride. What kind of gear do ya'll use and what can I use for my eyes? The fairing causes water from the front tire to come straight up into my face making it hard to see. Any and All help appreciated.

RE: rain gear question
I use the HD "Canal Street" rain suit , it was reasonable , eeasy to get on over boots and works quite well. I rode 3 hrs in a rain storm and was still dry .As for the eyes , I always wear a full face , a lil Rain-X helps on the faceshield

Another Vote for Frogg Toggs.
The water coming up, over the fairing is another issue tho. Some folks go to Lowes/Home Depot/Menards, etc and purchase 1/4" tubing, or smaller, and cut a slit in it all the way down, and slide it over the TOP of their windshield to force the water to the sides, etc.
I also hear that the Car Door side mouldings work well.
I've never used them tho.

Never heard of Frogg Toggs. Where might I find them? My wife is only 5'2", and we have a devil of a time finding anything she can wear. I have a HD one piece, and HATE it! Does keep me dry though.

Then, clik on Rainsuits, and you will find many varieties of them, at the top, starting with the "Elite" model.
I use the 'Original' version. They can be found at almost any online cycle shop if you 'google' it.

Frogg Toggs.........is the only way to go! You can spend $150 for a Harley rainsuit. Or look on-line and you can get a set fo Froggs for $45. They work great. I rode in a downpour for 9 miles and I was dry as dry gets. After that ride I was SOLD on them.

RE: rain gear question
A few of my riding buddies started out on frogg toggs and after having to ride for most of the day in them, they changed up pretty quick. FTs may be ok for a quick rainstorm, but if you get caught having to ride a whole day in the rain, they let you down.
I've got a HD rainsuit. I'm only 5'2", but I got the separates, and got a smaller pant size. Heck it comes right up to my boobies, but it keeps me dry and its comfortable to wear. I know I've ridden all day in driving rain and been dry. I don't even wear a hood anymore as my collar keeps even drenching from passing trucks out.
A couple of my other friends have nelson rigg suits and they say that keeps them dry.
You biggest thing to worry about is glasses that don't steam up. I know we came back from Natchez a few weeks ago, in the pouring rain, and my walmart goggles (wind riders) were the only ones that didn't let in water and didn't fog up, they are the kind that has foam, but not continously around the rim, kind of like the panoptx 75 series. The solid foam, like my old harley goggles steam up at the drop of a hat.

RE: rain gear question
best bet is to move to so cal and forget the rain gear - wait we already have to many people
I refuse to load myself down with that stuff just asking for it to rain.
