I am thinking there might be a problem with some valve stems. This is the second time someone posted about this problem. I have never heard of this happening before and now two people post in two months time. Makes me wonder.

Some one needs to tell the tire guys that you don't put assembly lube on valve cores.

Pick up a set of cast steel caps that are chromed. They have a hex head on em, like a 3/8" or so. Gasket inside, they WILL NOT come off if you tighten them tight by hand. Bout 4 or 5 bux a pair at AZone or Advance AP.

My tire was a tubless but I'm guessing it could happen on either type if there's something wrong with the schrader vavle.

It's called a schrader valve. You can buy them in tire changing kits at your local mc parts store.

+1 That is what I have on mine. But I do check the valve stem with a tool when I air the tires after Winter. I have had them loosen several times on both my bike and cars. I also re-tighten them after any tire work as the monkeys who mount tires leave them loose many times.

Yes...I had a valve stem cap on, this probably kept the tire from going completely flat right away.
