I do like the manual says. Oil change every 5,000, primary at 10,000 and tranny at 20,000 (I did forget and change the tranny at 10,000 twice now though). I started up my own maintenance sheet in excel to remind me.
Like someone else said, you can change it earlier but it seems to be a waste of time and money to me.

I'd recommend reading the book (owners manual) & make your own determination on when you want to change oil. As you can see - everyone has their own opinions & ideas (humorous ones too). Do what you feel is best for your ride.

For me and with new bike 50 miles,500,then with Amsoil it's once a season just before the bikes are stored.
