I have EFI and love it... I would never buy another bike that doesn't have it... that's all I can say... I hate messing with the choke, and re-adjusting the carb all the time on my old camaro ... ..

I'd wait for efi... your bike will be old and have high mileage someday,,, it sure will be nice to have efi when it gets there to save some time messing with the carb ...

I have not owned a EFI bike, but I have no complaints about my carburated 1200 XLC. Couple pumps pull the choke (enricher) and she always fires right up.

I hate carbs on cagers do to living in northern Michigan and dealing with them in -20* weather. But that is not an issue with a bike, so EFI is not a big factor to me for a bike.

That is the god's honest truth.
And you'll be able to modify the intake & exhaust & the whatnot with much less expense.

Save your money and buy the bike, you won't regret it.

i'd buy the carb and all you'll have to do is slightly twist a screw to adjust yer fuel enrichment and you'll be able use most custom gas tanks in a simple bolt in operation, EFI if you like shelling out $$ to "recalibrate' or 'remap' (this is adjusting your fuel enrichment) your EFI everytime you change a part and your custom gas tanks choices are severely limited n alot more expensive cuz the EFI fuel pump is inside EFI gas tanks, consider the longterm aspect of that fuel pump if it starts to erode in performance.
i'm all for sportster tech advances (i'm always here screaming for a liquid cooled 1125 sportster) cuz i don't like the fact that any VMAX japcrapper makes HDs look like mopeds but EFI is no real advancement, its a HD moneygrab that ensures you'll be back to get anally violated by the stealerships like it or not.

I personally never had any problems with a carbed Harley and never considered it a hassle. If it were me I'd buy the carbed at the cheaper price.

HD did not go to EFI to satisfy consumer demand. They needed to satisfy EPA demands.
