I think the person you so nicely term as "this hang around" was using an English sense of humour.

The description of the Riddick boots says "inside zipper". I'm assuming this means the boots can be put on/taken off by using a zipper, without dealing with all those laces?

I have a pair of those, not bad but not holding up as well as the $98 boots I last got from HD, these were $150 and the zipper always unzips, (I need to sew a buckle on each to keep them up), and the soles donh hold up neer as well, 1st pair had a blowout at 96 days, they replaced them, 2nd pair has also blown out but are holding up pretty good, but I feel for $150 they should last (soles) longer and should not be needing to be modified 9 mnths in. They are comfortable.

Bought a pair of HD boots from Academy Sports. Not the ones pictured in this thread. The lace broke the first day on one of the boots. I thought no big deal, Ill get new laces. Then I see they zip on the outside. Should have thought about that cause it made them a lot harder to zip up. Then on the third or fourth day the zipper broke.

Took them back and went to a Cycle World store and got some boots that have zippers on the inside and outside. Have not had any problems yet.

I wasn't luccky enough to have a good experience with the y2k zippers and I'm done buying any HD apparell except for the occasional t-shirt.
I bought a pair of HD boots at the LEVI outlet 75% off. Paid $30.00 for the boots. 2nd time wearing them popped first inside zipper got it fixed for $16.00 at a shoe guy and less than a month later the other zipper went. Same luck with my sons toddler jacke the zipper became detached from the material.
