There are several things you can do starting with a low profile seat, shorter shocks or a lowering kit in the rear and then lowering the front forks. The cheapest is the lowering kit and the other options cost a couple hundred each.

I put 12" shocks on the rear of my RK and then lowered the front one inch. The ride was a little stiffer and I had to be careful hopping curbs but the bike handled great and I felt like I was sitting "in" the bike and not "on" it.

Find a seat that sets you a little lower then buy a pair of cowboy boots and ride with them. The higher heel will make it easier to touch the ground. If you still have trouble after the seat and boots, then you will have to lower the suspension of the scooter. I would do this last since it is the most expensive way to get your feet on the ground.

Welcome to the forum.

Bought a lowering kit off e-bay for mine. Less than 60 bucks. Works fine.

2" isn't a lot - I changed the seat out and wear boots when I ride. I'm not on an Electra-Glide though...

You'll want to change the seat soon anyway and a Sundowner will lower you about an inch or so.Plus it's a great seat for the money. Then you might have to lower it.

I say go with boots with decent heals but its a fallacy that your feet have to be flat on the ground. Point your toes away from the bike, at about 10 and 2 o clock. Even if you use only the ***** of your feet, you will feel keeping the bike upright is much easier than being flat footed with your toes pointing straight (12 o clock). You'll also feel your thighs grip the sides of the seat with your toes pointing out which makes it easier to keep the bike up. I've ridden my Road King with tennis shoes on short rides and I can't flat foot it and have no problem at stops.
