MSRP At Most Dealers

It's a HD, don't work like car buying. Your deal ain't that bad. Depends on if you wanna ride all over for a few extra benjies. I didnt, and my fatboy is in the garage!! It's a toy, not a necessity, if I was them I wouldn't come down either. Someone lookin at that bike right now thinkin MSRP aint bad for a HD. It's not like a car dealership where 600 cars are on the lot.

I bought my 2010 FLSTC the first week in March for $16,735 which included: California Emissions, HD Freight, the Wheel Option and the HD Security system (Key Fob). This price was OTD not counting State Sales Tax. I also got a $250 Parts Credit and an additional 20% Discount on first shopping trip to their Parts Department. List price per HD web site is $18,414 equipped as noted above. With the $250 parts credit I feel that I actually paid $16,485. So that would be a $1,929 or 10.5% Discount off of MSRP. I also bought about $1,500 in parts using the 20% discount. But I'm not counting that in these calculations because the dealer had no way of knowing what I might (or might not) purchase using this discount.
Bear in mind that I negotiated this same deal with three septerate HD dealers. I also had an email offer of a 2009 for $16,000 from a fourth HD dealer. This process took a few weeks and a bit of patience on my part. This included sending an email to every HD dealer in Southern California with my "Offer". My original email offer was for $16,000 for the bike described above, but without the wheel option. I essentially offered 10% over invoice price; which I got from a company listed on one of the forums here. I then followed up the positive email responses I got with mulltiple visits to several dealers. A few HD dealers pretty much told me to get lost (in so many words . . .and some not so many) . . . which makes me wonder how they stay in business . . . . lovely advertisement for their interenst in customer satisfaction . . . .do they know that email lasts forever? . . . . but I digress . . . .in the end the dealer closest to me made the sale and I'm quite happy with their service and treatment following the sale.

It's the most fustrating thing to deal with. They know how to play the number game. But I figure I can hold out if I have too. I enjoy my Dyna Wide Glide and not going to fork over the check utill I feel good about the deal. I am going to spend time on the phone calling a couple of Dealers. It seems like every HD has diffrent MSRP price for the same bike and options.

Just my $.02 worth but I say, quit beating yourself up over the price of this bike. Sounds like you've got a pretty good price for this bike, and that you are just tying to justify spending this much money on a new bike. (sorry if over blunt) If you ride the one you have and don't just let it sit in the garage then I say BUY IT!
Going from a dyna frame to a touring air ride set-up is like going from a VW bug to a Cadillac. having the faring is great as well (at least in my opinion) The only thing that I don't like is the tall windshield (right in the line of sight) I bought a 8" smoked one off ebay and it keeps the wind down great and allows me to look over the windshield, and looks cool.
not sure where you live, but if you ride in much cold weather the fairing does a much better job of keeping your hands warm then just a windshield does. Also with the crash bars, harley sells a cover for about $50 that goes over them that works great in colder temps. (don't get the leather one)
Go and get it. you will really beat yourself up if you someone else buys it and you find out that you can only save $20 buy getting it somewhere else. (of course that is if you take the olive green model that they have on the floor)
