heres the deal Im in Michigan... the bike I want is in North Carolina!! 1100 miles away!! Ive seen many pics and its a 2005 Road King with 7500 miles on it looks really nice!! but do I have it shipped sight Unseen or drive down and take her home..man its a long haul!! Scarey to buy something without riding it..hearing it run or sitting on it and trusting someone with the $14,000!!! any thoughts ...on another note..know any good cheap shippers who would ship something like this?? anyone here from North Carolina who wants to go look at it for me?? LOL Figures ya always find what u want half way across the U.S.!!

 

See if a person or two from this forum who lives where the bike is will look and evaluate the bike for you.

 

Don't they have planes that fly from Michigan to North Carolina?

 

If you can't make that happen, try to locate a nearby dealer or indy with a good rep and pay someone to look it over.
If it was me, I would buy a one way ticket to NC and ride it home.

 

$14,000 on 05 RK is not real good deal. A dealership like mikes could deliver it for that price.

yeah I have thought about flying there and riding it back too!!

 

I did, but I had lots of communication with the seller before I did anything. Flew 600 miles away with a cashier's check and rode it home. The key was the communication, including phone calls and emails.

 

I would never buy a vehicle sight unseen, but that's just me. I mean it would be better to take the trip down there then to make a $14K opps!

 

My GF dad bought a bike cross state,got a real nice deal..had someone he knew go check it out,I just helped a friend out that moved away 3 yrs ago,he bought a truck on E-Bay and he called me up,It was 15mi from my house,I did the whole deal for him and drove it to my house,and he had a shipping Co.come get it...GO GET IT what ya got to lose..
