Too bad that OCC has to act that way just to get the ratings, Indian Larry didn't.

 

Alright, another OCC Bashing thread!!!

I do like some of the ‘standard’ custom bikes from OCC, but there are so many good builders (i.e. Dave Perewitz, Martin Bros., Corey Ness, etc.) and they all aren’t everything to everyone. He!! at one time, years ago, I even liked West Coast Choppers…[:@]

I wouldnt want to ride any of them. Choppers arent my style. But I enjoy watching the show occasionally.

I watched it just last night and they built a bike that was completely plated in copper taken from the statue of liberty.
It was a VERY cool looking chopper. The carbeurator was shaped like the torch on the statue, and was fully functional.

Even the seat was copper, which I cant imagine is very comfy on a hardtail

 

I like the show and watch it a lot - There is getting to be a lot of repetition in the lines but I have one more observation - I am not sure if I have ever seen anyone on that show use a torque wrench

 

No... can't say that I have... although I have seen Paul Sr. use his size 12's when Jr. is screwing off somewhere...

 

The show is cool, but Paul Sr. grates on my nerves pretty damn quick. The bikes they build are okay, I think they tend to be a little gawdy....to much crap welded on to them and they don't look comfortable at all to ride!

 

I'd like to see what they could do with a working man's chopper. Nothing fancy, just affordable for the average working man.

 

I said it before, IMO, Paul Sr's TV personna is an idiot, but I wouldn't say that to his face. Jr. shows talent, and sometimes really suprises me with his original ideas. Some of the bikes are great, some not so, but I don't think they can build a real rider. But, the show brings a lot of new interest in bikes, and if more people are aware of bikes, I feel safer on the road.

Now, for a daily rider, i would go to a smaller Builder like Bob McKay. Great bikes, lower profile, lower prices

 

I would too. I guess I would consider a West Coast Chopper to be a working man's chopper, except for the price tag! I like Jesse's bikes the best because they are so simple in their design and styling and are still functional. OCC just welds on too much crap and they're really busy looking and don't look like they're any fun to ride.

Besides, if I had $150k burning a hole in my pocket, I wouldn't spend it on a scooter!!!

No, I would definitely keep my opinions about Paul Sr. to myself. That guy is a moutain of a man. Although he's constantly breaking Paul Jr.'s *****, for no reason. Jr delivers each and every time. Sr should hang it up and let Jr run the show. The dude knows what he's doing.

 

I really like Russell Mitchell's Exile creations. Nothing too flashy, very funtional, and 100% bad ***! Make mine a Fat Bloke please...
