Default anyone here ever "detuned" a motor???

Hey everyone,

I have a fat bob with a 113" in it that is putting out 118/143 to the rear wheel. I have put about 1500 miles on it so far and still haven't gotten use to the power. I am running a woods 400G cam, oversized valves, hpi throttle body etc and it has a fairly hard hit to it when the power starts coming on. Just while "regular" riding in the curves if I hit even the smallest bump and BARELY bump the throttle the bike wants to jump and go. I'm a little concerned that I may have built a bike with a little too much motor for such a light bike. Aside from changing cams I was wondering if it would be possible to get the dyno tuner to de-tune it a little to make it a little more rideable? Don't get me wrong I love the torque this thing makes but it is entirely too sensitive in the curves/corners. It makes riding it in a group a huge challenge.

I know most everyone here is going to think I am crazy for wanting to turn it down just a notch. I've had all kinds of sport bikes over the years but nothing with such an overly sensitive throttle than what this bike has. Bottom line I want it to still have a nice powerband but less sensitive while in the curves and groups even if it costs me 10-20lbs of torque.....any suggestions?

Put a 9b in it , that will lower your cranking pressure and smooth out the hit but she will still run good , start easy and rev!

Trade me your bike for mine, I will need to swap out all the Willie G. stuff and my denim tins, but then we can trade straight across. That should take care of it for you. Just kidding man, I own a busa, so I feel your pain.
OTOH, it's kinda like a woman getting a breast reduction. It's just a slap in the face to God.

Change the Bell Crank on the Throttle Body so that it takes more Hand Grip rotation to get the same amount of Throttle Blade opening.

Small cars do just the oposite thing so that a little movement of the gas pedal actually opens the trottle a lot . . . makes the car feel like it's more powerfull than it really is on light throttle openings . . . you just want to do the oposite . . . best of all WOT on your bike will still be WOT . . . so when you DO want to open her up . . . everything you paid for will still be there.

Sounds like it has a mikuni. ??? If so, there are a lot of things you can do to change the twist on them
