That bridge is well travelled by bikers. Especially during Bike Week. This is just another reminder to expect anything especially in that cluster F**k.

I haven't been over that way in a while. How do they have it set up that is different than it was?

BTW when you take the north/south route thru DE to the beach, as you pass Smyrna, listen closely and you will hear me waving...

Well sometimes heading East they have the far Toll Booths go over the the Left bridges 3rd lane. But all other times they just have it Coned to run into the The east Bridge . The problem is the Cones and Jersey Walls all blend so you really can't tell or see Who is going Where from the Left .

another ******* in a subaru. I make a point be extra careful whenever I see one of those **** boxes. The drivers tend to be blinded by the littany of "obama" and "save the ozone" bumper stickers they have plastered to their windows. Speedy recovery to the downed biker!

Brilliant analysis Einstein! Clearly the make of the car and bumper stickers were the cause of the crash. i hope the 45 other posts you have contributed to HDForums are as relevant and insightful as this one.

Default bridge!!!

We don't do the bridge anymore!!! My wife and me sat in bumper to bumper traffic going to bike week 3 years ago during the week! Not even the weekend when you'd expect traffic to be bad. I lead our group over to Lancaster, pa. and down thru delaware into ocean city. We like the ride along coast and we aren't in a hurry to get there as our rental house isn't ready till 4 pm Saturday. We won't do any of the brldges anymore. I was hauling road salt from Delaware docks to Balt. this winter and that bridge just as bad!!!
Last year I heard there was a backup 10 miles long on Sunday coming home from bike week!! I didn't have any of that on out route....

I was thinking a simple lane merge didn't make much sense. You would think a guy pulling a u-turn would be especially careful in a situation like that.
