riding with ape hangers
#12
Greetings,
I ran 16" apes with a 2" riser on my Rocker C with no issues at all. Like others have said, just take it for a long spin and see what you think for yourself. They aren't for everybody, that's for sure.

Apes are an acquired taste. About the only difference I have noticed is that for turning, the higher the bars, the more you need to use not just your arms but your body as well in order too achieve the same degree of turning movement

a doctor will tell you that your hands shouldn't be above your heart. if you can't keep your hands on the controls in tight parking lot manuevers the bars are too tall. i watch many a rider wobbling in parking lots and see more shaking the circulation back into their hands at stop lights.

your brain is above your heart and has no trouble getting blood pumped to it.
and if you can't keep two hands on the bars during maneuvers you shouldn't be riding at all.
when i switched from the stock mini apes to 14's on 2" risers i found it much more comfortable, i sit hunched down so my hands are slightly above my shoulders.
get them!
