What Kind of Engine Oil do you use....?

RE: What Kind of Engine Oil do you use....?
Well, as long as I'm in the midst of my service plan, I'll use the HD oil that the dealer puts in. Once that ends, I'll switch to Mobil 1 synthetic. I've read tons of articles and they've all led me to believe one thing, oil is oil. Oils made for 4x4, import engines, motorcycles (4 stroke), are almost the same. There are additives to reduce build up and such but if you change your oil religiously at 3K, no problem. Cheaper oils just break down a little sooner but they're all designed to last a few thousand. So, mobil 1 is just as good as the HD stuff that costs a lot more.

Mobil 1 V-Twin - crank
Redline Shockproof Heavy - Trans
Drag Specialties Primary fluid currently in primary
while it may be true that most dino oils are "good"....its also true that category 5 synthetics are better for some applications..less friction equals less heat and less wear over the long haul equals more miles riding before overhaul time. Whether you change every 3000 miles or not...dino oils run hotter.

I paid $1.79 last time for a quart of Kendall 20w50.
