I think with the lack of hunting pressure the deer and turkey have seen in the past decade has aided their numbers. I live by a state park and I try like hell to avoid driving at dawn and dusk by there.

I had an incident last year with a vulture.. I took a dove to the head before and I am certain that I don't want to know what anything that size feels like.

 

Glad you dodged that one, a bird that big could do some serious damage.

I took out a quail last year with my lower leg. Darn things take off low and in pairs, first one barely over my front fender and the 2nd one into my left leg at 75mph. Hit just above the ankle into my high boots and still bruised like Hell.
