Default Riding around OBX area

Went down to OBX last May and going back this May. Was wondering if anyone can tell me any good rides around the area. Been up and down the main areas and to Ocracoke. Looking for any other destinations worth riding to. Heard that Beaufort was nice but it's a good haul. Any suggestions for day long rides?

If you make it to Beaufort be sure and eat at Beaufort Grocery Co. Best food in NC. Just catch the ferry at Ocracoke, you can easily do the OBX and Beaufort in a day.

Go out US 158 west toward Elizabeth City. If you have not been there, it is a
beautiful city. You can take NC 32 south toward US 64 across the Albemarle
Sound and then ride on toward Manteo and US 264. Take US 264 around through
Engelhard and Belhaven. Go on toward Washington on to US 17. Great riding there.

Make a lighthouse run up and down the coast. That would be fun. Enjoyed taking my sisters up the one in Coralla(sp?) and you might want to check out the Wright Brothers musuem in Kitty Hawk.

Well, had a great ride from Ohio to the Outer Banks last week. Did the Ocracoke trip then decided next day to ride to Beaufort but didn't take the ferry from Ocracoke. Took a very scenic route 64, 94, 264 etc. Got there and the recommended restaurant (Beaufort Grocery Co) was closed on Tuesdays. Found another place though and had a good lunch. Nice scenic little town. 5 hours down via back roads and two ferry rides. 3 hours back crankin it on all highways. Thanks for the info.
