Tips for loading and unloading bike into truck
Hi everyone, I'll be taking my bike down to Texas in the back of my truck and was wondering if anyone had any good tips for loading and unloading it, i.e. amount of people, push it or drive it, what to look out for, load it strait or at an angle. My truck is a 94 B4000 and it will only fit in there with the tailgate down so I'm gonna have to really secure it down. I have baught the ramp yet but it'll probably your reg 6x1 type ramp unles I can't find a bigger one cheaper. I'll take any advise I can get, wanna make sure I get it in there the best and safest way.
the road goes on forever and the party never ends

I would load it straight in with a wheel chock and make sure your ramp has either a curve in it or isn't at a steep angle so the frame doesn't hit, and make sure your tie downs won't damage anything, good luck

IMO, you'll need to deck the bed and tailgate with at least 1 sheet of 3/4 plywood. Tailgates aren't made to carry that kind of weight.
I would put it on a trailer and tow it.

Don't know what a B4000 is, but moved a buddy from Nor Cal to Tuscon last winter the one day it didn't rain. Used my 1/2 ton full size pick up for his bike. Loaded it straight. The rear wheel just rested on the edge of the tailgate. Kept the bike upright. Worked out just fine.
