Once you drop down the east sid into Winthorp watch out for DEER, especially in the morning and in the evening. Never seen more many deer. As you are entering Winthrop they have a sign with the number of deer hit to date almost 1 a day. Saw a real nasty accident where a Harley hit a deer. Real ugly sight. Deer dead, Harley rider seriosly injured, Bike totaled.
The wife and I are planning a little trip from Vancouver BC down through Cascades Park to Winthrop and touring around taking about a week.
Has anyone done this and can you recommend some good spots/accomodations that are bike friendly?
Make sure you stop for lunch at Three Finger Jacks Saloon in Winthrop.
