Not to hijack the thread, but I'm riding to WA from Texas in July. Heading to Whidbey Island and then over to Victoria, BC. I want to take a day to ride in the Whidbey area. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

The best ride over there is Chukanut Dr. It's not on the island, but if you are taking the Tswassen or Horshoe bay ferry to Vancouver is., you should make this ride. Head to Mt. Vernon and head North toward Bellingham on Chuckanut. Great twisty road with scenery. Whidbey itself is kind of boring, some good roads, but short rides. Most beaches are private, and there can be a lot of traffic.

Thanks for the heads up. The Whidbey portion of the trip is to scatter my mom's ashes from the bridge which was one of her last wishes. It'll just be a day/night there. I'll have plenty of time to explore.
