Glad she is ok. My ol didnt make it out of the driveway. Launched the bike across the street. Still wants to ride though. Told her she needs to take the class.

Glad to hear she is OK. At least, she's brave enough to ride her own bike. We all have mishaps from time to time.

bummer wife went down, good thing is all can be fixed!! Hell, if dropping my bike was the worst thing I did to crank my ego, I'd smile alot more. Have wifey rub some dirt on it, duct tape the scoot back together and make it her bitch. Something I always told my girl before she started riding and now all the time,,,, Baby, make that bike your bitch,, make it do what YOU want it to do. Best of luck with that!

"One last thing for those that were full face helmets, her chin on the helmet is all scratched, if she had open face like me she would have had rash on her face! "

Here is a photo of my wife after a face plant at about 45 MPH. She was wearing a 3/4 helmet at the time. She now wears full face helmet 100% of the time. Being a slow leaener, I still wear no helmet unless I am in a state requiring it, and then it's a half helmet for me. If you want to protect the face, full face helmet is the only way to go.

Glad the wife if OK. I'm pretty sure her confidence is shaken up some, regardless what she says.

I 'm also thinking that getting her a smaller bike to ride for a few months might be in order. I bought a 81 Kawa KZ440 when I decided to get back into it. Man, I am so glad I did. I liked it so much just couldn't bring myself to sell it. Think I only paid a grand for it and I could sell it for that tomorrow.

I have an 883 Iron also and it is NOT an easy ride. Low speed handling is particularly bad. I'm spending a lot of time doing figure 8 turns and working on braking into and accelerating through the turns. The suspension is horrible. Since you have to fix the bike, you might want to consider upgrading the suspension.

sorry to hear about your wife's accident. glad she's ok, and willing to give it another go. good luck to you both. safe riding. BTW, I wear a full face most of the time, and although i sometimes feel like an oddball, I do feel better knowing I have it on.
