WTF...9 pages but this is bullsh$it. I have been riding the same 65 pan since 1970 and I have NEVER seen a question like this asked in person or posted on any forum

Think you all got taken by a poser who only wanted to suck a lot of folks into his fantasy land. Guy probably rides a Honda 50...

I have helped a lot of people load their new new bike at the dealership and wonder why they don't ride it home...And then I have seen a lot of people drop their new bike before they got out of the parking lot and wondered why they didn't put it on a trailer...I guess they all have their reasons.

You have to know the answer to this one, and it certainly does not involve a trailer.

I bought mine on a fluke at a dealer near Milwaukee during the 105th Anniversary celebration. Rode in on a Sporty, and pulled into a dealer that was having a party on their grounds. Fell in love with it, traded in the Sporty on the spot (but had to wait until the next day to pick it up 'cause they had to install the new pipes).

Did it get broken in that weekend? You bet! Did I ride in the parade? You bet! Had 800 miles on it by the time I got home.

Ride it, for God's sake!

I'm with everyone else, why did you buy it if you aren't going to ride it?

DannyZ71-Um, expierience? Mid range RPMs are around 2500-3500 rpm. 5000 is close to screaming so if you keep it REASONABLE between shifts, you should not have any problems. And IF YOU READ THE MANUAL, they tell you the speeds for changing gears. Not too hard to figure out.

Unless you don't have a license or have not been through the safety course, ride her!!!
Go to the parking lot to get use to her feel and do some basic turns and stops the after you know the feel of the throttle and brakes put her in the wind. Congrats and ride safe
