I feel silly asking, I'm going on my first poker run
today. Can someone explain how they work.

 

they can be a lot of fun...the ones i have been on the first timers by the first round though...

 

It's really pretty simple. When your sign up, you draw a card. You will then have four more stops along the ride. You draw a card at each stop. The person with the best "poker" hand is the winner. Have fun and enjoy the ride!

 

Sometimes poker chips are used so you can just reach into a bag and grab one.Of course the chips are marked like playing cards.
At the begining of the run you will be given a paper that will be marked off at each stop to verify your hand.The paper is turned in at end of the run.

 

The way we do it is pretty cool,,we make 5 stops and recieve different objects at each stop (this proves we where there), when we get back to camp we draw 5 cards from a box,,the best hand wins, we even have a worst hand prize. A Road Captain should be present at the run, get with him and he'll explain everything..

 

Like everyone has said, You have a starting point for registration, 4-5 stops and you choose a card at each stop. ONe of best I went on started at our HD dealer and finsihed at TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY and you got to take a lap or two around the speedway.
