Coming from sportbikes. all the Harleys are low. I'm not sure about the lowering. Seems like Harleys already have marginal ground clearance. Guess it don't matter if it's a bar hopper.

I went the other direction, raised mine because I was scraping way too easy. Plus I would have a hell of a time on a road like this lowered!!!

Ridability is everything to me. No way am I reducing the ground clearance.

I hate all this Low stuff myself, looks like Harley is catering to pipsqueaks these days. I added a Hammock seat to my FLHT mainly because it sits up and back a few inches, in fact I bought the FLHT over a Road Glide because the stock seat was higher and then the Hammock seat improves that.

I guess if you're short then Low everything is fine but I'm 6 foot and like some leg room. The way my baggers set up now I can ride all day in comfort and there's enough ground clearance that my floorboards aren't scrapped up too bad.

Im 6"1' and pretty much lowered the bike as far as it will go to where I scrap going over speed bumps. Why you ask? Because it makes me happy!

I think lowering kits are great for customizing a bike to a rider. For instance, I have narrowed my seat AND lowered my bike. It much easier on my knees and gives me even more of a flat footed stance at a stop. At least for me, it's more functional than it is for looks.

Ground clearance? Ain't that what you worry about when yer tires finally engage the pavement? I don't worry about that until I miss my mark on landing...
