How about just buying a pair of nice boots with a large heal.

Actually, all Sportsters are XL. I remember reading there was a sign on a milling machine in the Milwaukee plants that read "the smallest size we build is XL"
I love that!

Mine was lowered when I bought it, had a real problem bottoming out. So I raised it an inch above stock, no more bottoming out and it handles way better.

Q: What are the advantages and disadvantages of installing a lowering kit on a cruising motorcycle, especially with regard to handling?

A: Unless special circumstances are involved, lowering or "slamming" a cruiser is primarily a cosmetic modification, and in all candor, I'd be hard-pressed to think of any real advantages you'd gain by doing so. Lowering a cruiser will almost certainly impact handling for the worse simply because it reduces ground clearance."
As with many things in life, lowering your bike is a compromise. You sacrifice a little here to reap the benefits there. Not everyone is willing to do that and that's ok. But for me (and many others, I suspect) the trade off in the handling/ground clearance is offset by the way the bike looks. Does that make me vain? I guess it does... but are there any among us who doesn't care about how our bike looks?

Certain bikes NEED to be lowered, like FX Softails, 'cause they don't look right at stock height. I wouldn't lower a tourer,Dynas maybe/maybe not. Fat Softails--it's a coin toss. No more than 1";any lower looks silly. 1" has never affected the handling of any of my bikes.

I like the looks mainly.... always enjoyed lowered vehicles, bikes, etc... Also, so my wife can ride it if she wants (shes a bit shorter than me).

Default lower

Lowering a bike or car has been associated with a custom look as long as I can remember. Air suspension is a nice choice you can have the look when you please with out sacrificing the ride it’s the best of both worlds
