think your all right..some lower bikes because of there height, others for the looks i feel both are valid reasons..remember some like vannella others chocolate..it would be pretty boring if all bikes were kept stock

I agree that it's partly for looks and partly for more of that "sitting IN the bike" feel.

I venture to say that it's one of those how it looks things like removing one of the front brake rotors.

The only thing I lowered was my FXR...it was too tall and ugly looking for my taste. Now I can stand flat footed and have about a foot of distance between me and the seat. Oh well....looks cool...drag the pipes and the jiffy stand all the time...but it looks cool.

Lowered my fatboy for looks. My new ultra limited will stay as is for comfort.

Vertically Challanged, and just like the feel of having the bike lower. I was tip toed on my street bike and never had the urge to lower it, but as said before... backing up 800 lbs is a lot different.

Although I like lowered bikes, it is function over fashion for me

Another vote for function here. I've lowered the front and back of my Road King, just like mods I made on my Dyna. I did lose a little ground clearance, but then a RK is not a sport bike and grinding footboard parts gives me more than enough warning that it's leaned a little too far.
