This is starting to get to me.

I've had a few days off this week and the weather is fantastic.

Rode my Wide Glide a lot.

Went to visit a friend at his office. He came outside to check out the bike when I was leaving. His comment was, "that bike is like a sportster, right?" I was shocked.

Then in the afternoon of the same day, my Dad came by my house. He was admiring my bike and then he said, "that bike is like a Sportster".

My bike has lots and lots of chrome, and that Wide Glide style. (the original, not the new style WG)

I'm now looking for a new dad and friend.

 

So what is wrong with the sportster??????????????/

 

Don't expect people that don't own a Harley to get it. We have to try to educate them.

 

Obviously they don't ride Harley's.

Some people just DON"T know bikes. I had a lady ask me if me Heritage was a Sportster once....I just said "no ma'am"

 

if they were to ask ME i would just say: "YES" because it is.

 

I get that alot too, they kinda do look like sportsers because of the fenders.

How much money you got? Are you gonna leave it to family or friends?

If my friend pulled up on a Honda, I would probably ask him if it was a rebel, seeing as that is the only make of a honda MC that I know of. So, I would gather that your Dad and friend do not ride, and probably asked if it was a sportster seeing as it is the make of HD that most people know.
