Default Riding Armed

Hey Everyone,
Need some advise. I am deployed, but am planning a run to Sturgis when I get home. I have a CHL license, and need some advise on a good way to carry concealed while I ride. The states I'll be rolling through honor my Texas CHL license, so I'm legal and all...just need a safe, comfortable way to carry on the scooter. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

In a holster...had to say that.... but I use a belt type clip (looks like a knife clip) and I carry just right of center.

I got the clip from Mid-Way and its called Clipdraw...nice thing on a small auto's... it eliminates the bluk of a hoster. Works well with my PPKs.

Hope this help!

You certainly want to make sure you know all the states carry laws you may ride through. My permit is not worth the paper it is written on in all states.

Be careful if there are any restrictions on your CHL (places cant be carried) you could still get jammed up, wrong place wrong time. Oh and to answer your ? pocket

If you carry going to Sturgis...dont pull over on any Federal land, if you get stopped and they find it, you are sunk.......no matter what permit you have. Use caution.

When riding in honoring states, IWB at 4:00 is covered nicely by a jacket..... problem is of course you are exposed once you take off your coat for lunch, etc. Given this fact, some sort of pocket holster for either coat, vest or front pocket is most advantageous for deeper carry. You will have to go smaller so consider such options as Ruger LCP, Smith 642, Ruger LCR etc.

Long and short of all carry is you have trade offs between firepower, size, concealability and comfort. Would rather have a Glock 33 or a 1911 but the LCP (380) depending on situation can and is concealable in all situations (except maybe when you are swimming laps in your Speedos )

But to each his own.

Hope you never find yourself in a situation where you even contemplate using it.

Is it even really needed. This just sounds like something to get in trouble over. I own plenty of guns and I have a carry permit, But I dont carry unless I'm carrying large amounts of cash to or from my place of business. Never felt the need to I was always afraid of what it could lead to if things got outa hand.

If you aren't fully willing and able to use a weapon in self defense and have full control of yourself at all times....You shouldn't carry at any time.
